Guess who just got the cleanest 1999 Honda Civic in the East Coast?!
This guy! Brought her home yesterday and registered it today. It's a 5-speed CX with the only option being air conditioning (Aweyeaaaah). PO drove her from California to Taxachusetts 3 years ago and she has no rust ANYWHERE! 2 previous owners and well taken care of. Has about 124k and rides great. Nothing like a fully stock Honda with no rust. I plan on reviewing it sometime soon. What does Oppo think of my new ride? I know, I'ts obviously awesome.

STOCK LATE 90S/EARLY 2000S CIVIC WITH NO RUST AND IN GOOD SHAPE IN THE NORTHEAST? UNICORN MATERIAL!
Congrats on your new whip!

Thanks! The interior is immaculate... I'll get some better photos later with a legit camera.

That's unicorn material right there.

Keep it in a vault and then sell it for millions.

Congrats on having a clean canvas upon which you have the choice of either making your own 'vangogh or simply leaving the canvas, a canvas.
With a clean EK like that, you could pull off a really mint, oem-style, show worthy, (or track worthy) honda.
Make sure to do your rustproofing now before you let her go through these northern winters.

Now you have to make it Really Colorful

The person that is going to steal it. . .
Sorry, poor taste, but seriously keep an eye on it and make sure there is some sort of anti theft/kill switch on it. I've had friends with civics that like to up and disappear on them only to surface dented abused and stripped out.
I have always loved the EK hatch so keep it nice and clean.

Were these hubcaps original? Seems strange having them over anything other than black wheels, though they do actually look pretty great on the car.

Congrats! I miss my civic so bad... '96 DX... Never let that baby go! Or sell to me maybe?
![]() 10/23/2014 at 03:54 |

Totally going to invest on rustproofing it soon. I'm going to go for OEM style modifications.

Yeah I live in a somewhat nice town with not much crime. Any recommendation on an alarm system?

Awe shit son!

Steelies will probably do until the Spring/Summer. I want some black HX wheels on her.

Hard to believe right? Thanks!

They look decent and seem to be aftermarket. OEM ones usually had the Honda H in the center.

Never! Which body style was yours?
![]() 10/23/2014 at 04:04 |

Seriously considering this. :)

love it! CX I believe had less sound deadening to make them cheaper and thus get slightly better fuel economy, and the A/C is a fairly rare option on a CX. not a fan of the CX's wing... I have a DX wing for sale but it's in CO so that's a hassle :P
great pickup! finding a stock one (aside from those hubcaps) is pretty amazing!
looks to be silver steelies under the hubcaps, vote you ditch the hubcaps :D I did white steelies back when my white hatch was nearly stock and loved it

Oem style is good. Just be prepared to spend a fortune on quality honda parts, and specialty rare honda parts... However, im my experience, its all been worth it.

Easily the cleanest civic in Taxachusetts (+1 for using taxachusetts).
Where are you in MA?

Looks awesome! Are you in MA?

Hubcaps are going the way of the dodo. I'm a fan of your EK. Still rocking that Mugen wing? #EkBros4Lyef

We should do an Oppo meetup!
![]() 10/23/2014 at 23:55 |

Definitely! The New England Oppos were talking about organizing one earlier this year but it never materialized. There's a FB group too: https://m.facebook.com/home.php?refsr…

Get some OEM wheel covers and it's perfect. Nice find.
![]() 10/24/2014 at 09:33 |
|
yeah. I've always wanted a type R wing, so I've got my DX and my Moogen wing for sale, and will hold onto whichever doesn't sell until I can get an R wing.
any other plans for yours aside from ditching the walmart hubcaps? or will it remain a mostly stock car?
still pretty capable and fun in stock form. I'd always drooled over how they looked so before I bought one I took a test drive (sorry dealer salesman, I wasn't thinking of buying) and took it up a canyon road, and it flung itself into the corners fairly well even without suspension mods.

No way! I'm in North Leominster. What a small world.

If you see someone in a bright red mazda 2 waving that will be me, haha.
![]() 10/26/2014 at 15:04 |

Sweet! I'll be waving back.
![]() 10/26/2014 at 15:11 |

Lol. I want to upgrade my suspension first. Thinking of some Progress CS2 coilovers unless I can get some Koni Yellows or Illuminas with Ground Controls for a similar price. Then maybe wheels and rear discs for the Spring. Think I'll focus on engine last... You still got a Y7 in yours or is it swapped?
![]() 10/26/2014 at 21:15 |
|
a very respectable choice, suspension and brakes will make a big change.
nope, mine is b16a2 now, but wish for a dseries during my commute
![]() 10/27/2014 at 17:20 |
|
What exactly about the B16 makes you want a D during your commute? Lucky me, my job is 1.9Mi from my house... :)
![]() 10/27/2014 at 17:23 |
|
my D was an auto, and my B is a high revving manual with an unforgiving clutch. I think an auto D would be far more relaxing in my traffic heavy commute :)
![]() 10/27/2014 at 22:48 |
|
I see. Traffic blows.
![]() 10/27/2014 at 22:56 |
|
word, traffic does blow.
I also had a 96 cx with a d series and manual, I really like how simple the d is and how nice it looks in the bay. probably a little sad, but I find the D series more aesthetically pleasing. and drove just fine. top gear always said its more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slowly

Wise words.
